2023-2024 Season Info

Open to Kindergarten through 8th Grade

Registration for the 2023-2024 Wrestling Season Closes October 20th. 

Mandatory Meeting For BOTH IKWF and REC (wrestler and parent): Wednesday, November 1 at Pecatonica Elementary School at 6:30 PM.

IKWF Wrestlers

Families who know that their student-athlete will participate in IKWF.  In order to participate in tournaments, student-athletes MUST obtain yearly IKWF membership at an additional cost of $50.  Membership information and sign-up is on the IKWF website.  IKWF wrestlers must attend a minimum of 2 practices each week with Thursday being mandatory.  IKWF practices will be more intensive with a focus on preparation for competitive tournaments.  IKWF wrestlers do NOT need to wrestle in all tournaments, families can select the ones to attend that work best for their student-athletes and their schedules.  For first year IKWF wrestlers, there are 2 beginner tournaments in December.  These tournaments are a great opportunity for new IKWF wrestlers to get acclimated to IKWF.  Schedule will be provided at the Parents Meeting on November 1.   IKWF Wrestlers will incur additional costs for each tournament they participate in.

IKWF Practices:  November 7th through March

• Tuesday, Wednesday from 6:00-7:15pm  & Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00
• Pecatonica Elementary School Gym

Registration Fee: $75 per wrestler.  A $25 discount will be added to the total for all Families registering more than one wrestler.  There will be a $20 late fee added to late registrations after 10/20.

• Covers t-shirt, shorts, rental of headgear and singlet, and access to end of the year pizza party/end of the year tournament

IKWF Cost: Additional $50.  IKWF Website for IKWF Registration: https://www.ikwf.org/    

Tournament Info: Dates and Locations TBD - Information provided at Parent Meeting.  Additional fees will be required for those participating in IKWF Tournaments.

Equipment Needed: Wrestling shoes, athletic clothes

Non-IKWF (REC) Wrestlers (Can sign up for IKWF later if desired)

Families whose student-athletes are wrestling for the 1st time or are unsure whether or not they want their student-athlete to wrestle in tournaments.  We will start practice on November 7th and will practice 2 nights a week (Tuesday and Wednesday) at Pecatonica Elementary.  Families have until January to make a decision on IKWF certification.  Practices will be focused on the fundamentals and rules of wrestling.  The emphasis will be more on learning and having fun!  

Rec Practices:  November 7th through December 20th

• Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:15 to 6:15
• Pecatonica Elementary School Gym

End Date:  December 20th, in house tournament date TBD, end of the season pizza party date TBD

Please fill out the Coaching Application if you are interested.  If you have coached previously, you need to apply each season.  All coaches and assistants will have a background check performed prior to being able to coach the kids.  No exceptions.  Coaches must be approved by the PSA Coordinator.
